You can pay for goods and services with national currency that can be exchanged at any bank. Banks usually work Monday to Friday from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm, and some large banks can serve customers on Saturdays. From 0.5 to 1% is charged for the exchange.
Virtually all major restaurants and shopping centers accept credit cards of international standard. If you need to cash out the money, you can use ATM. There are ATM at banks, as well as at major shopping and entertainment centers.
The mains voltage is 220 V; all hotels have three-pin sockets. It’s better to bring adapters for electrical appliances with you; some hotels provide adapters upon request.
Local people feature tactful and courteous behavior; foreign visitors have to take up the lead. It’s not accepted to show your emotions and behave loudly in crowded places, as it will be treated as a sign of bad manners.
