Liverpool is situated in the south-west of England along the Mersey River. It's second largest port of export in Great Britain. The historical part of the city, including the well-known Albert Dock, was put in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 2004. Liverpool borders upon such cities as Huyton and Bootle. On the other bank of the Mersey River take place Wellsy and Birkenhead. All over the world Liverpool is first of all famous for its old football clubs Everton and Liverpool. This city also gave birth to the legendary group 'The Beatles', which started its career in the 60s. In 2008 Liverpool along with Stavanger (Norway) got the status of a cultural capital.
