Located slightly above the mouth of the Deal River, Chester has become a major railroad junction and trade center.

Founded more than two thousand years ago by the Romans, Chester is, certainly, one of the most interesting cities of Britain. The city perfectly mixes all cultures that have left their mark on its streets. The ruins of the amphitheater feature stunning looks of the cathedral built in the gothic style. There are also buildings made by the Saxons approximately in the middle of the seventh century. Located at the intersection of Northgate Street, Eastgate Street, Bridge Street, and Watergate Street, High Cross was first mentioned in the records of 1377. On summers a herald welcomes all guests of the city near this cross. This theatrical tradition has a century old tradition and is very popular among tourists.
