The history of cultural sights in Dresden is long and a lot has been written and said about the impressing buildings and epochs that influenced Dresden’s cultural scene.
The most important sights are probably the Zwinger Palace, the Frauenkirche, the Semper Opera House, and the Saxon Palace Pillnitz. Beside these buildings, that were all developed toward the end of the 19th century, there emerged a new style, less expressive in its architecture but rather innovative: the Wilhelminian style. The Artushof is a shining example of this new style in architecture.
Most probably built in 1998/99, this building was first a residential house and only slowly turned into a hotel fully established with a restaurant by the mid-20s. Remarkably, it survived WW2 without major damages and the restaurant re-opened in 1946.
In 1992 it was taken over by the family Haupt and carefully restaurated according to the protection of historical monuments. Even the interior has been reconstructed and thus you'll find individually different stucco ceilings and 4 stoves made of famous Meissner tiles.
We are looking forward to welcoming you as our guests.
