Le Havre is a city in the north of France with a population of about 255 thousand people, which makes it 12th most populous city in France. Le Havre is situated on the bank of the mouth of the Seine River and is washed with the waters of the English Channel from the opposite side.
The city was founded in 1517. Іt was named Franciscopolis in honor of Francis I, the King of France. Le Havre means 'the harbor' or 'the port'.
