Going for vacations, all travelers are wondering how to diversify their leisure. As it would be hard to surprise modern travelers with an abundance of restaurants, entertainment venues and sports centers, Bourgogne would offer some pretty unusual ways of leisure.
One of the main distinguishing features of the province is a number of pristine rivers, which in warmer months become attractive for fans of beach rest. Almost all the local rivers attract fans of water activities; you can find rentals of sport and beach equipment everywhere.
If a serene stay on the beach won’t be impressive, travelers can go hunting. You can hunt game that is ubiquitous in vast forests, but, however, hunting for truffles is more demanded by tourists. Annually the province produces more than 4 tons of fine mushrooms, which are appreciated by gourmets all over the world. Tourists search truffles accompanied by experienced and specially trained pigs; such events are organized for individual travelers as well as for larger groups. The period of harvesting mushrooms begins in summer and continues until the end of September.
