Tourists should definitely not forget to visit Croatian Sabor. The construction of the Serbian parliament building was completed in 1908, so the building is a true example of neoclassicism. Croatian Sabor is one of the most important historical sites of the beginning of the 20th century as many important political decisions were made there. The beautiful palace is still the center of the political life of the city.
Among the religious monuments of the city visitors should definitely not forget to visit Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. According to historical records, the first religious building in its place was built back in the 12th century. In the 13th century the Tatars destroyed the old church, and after their retreat a new cathedral was immediately built on the sight of the old church. A lovely building with two spiers is home to a huge number of precious religious artifacts including medieval icons, clothing and jewelry.
