Fans of educational excursions will be interested in visiting the Monastery of Our Lady of the Snows that also houses an interesting collection of exhibits, including paintings of world famous painter Vlaho Bukovac. The artist has born and spent most of his life in Cavtat; his house is also considered a local landmark. The Vlaho Bukovac House was converted into an art museum, which in addition to his works keeps paintings of other famous Croatian painters.
A very attractive and interesting architectural site is the church of St. Nicholas. It is an imposing building with a thought-out façade; its interior strikes with its irresistible appearance. Walls of the church have kept many unique religious and artistic artifacts for hundreds of years. The remains of ancient walls that once protected the city from invaders have also preserved in Cavtat. There are several extensive archaeological areas, as well as ruins of ancient amphitheaters and prehistoric settlements next to the town.
