Vancouver is a coastal city and major seaport located in the Lower Mainland of southwestern British Columbia, Canada. It is the largest city in British Columbia and the second largest metropolitan area in the Pacific Northwest region. It is bounded by the Strait of Georgia, Burrard Inlet, the Fraser River, the city of Burnaby, and the University Endowment Lands. Vancouver is named after Captain George Vancouver, a British explorer. The city is famous for its ability to preserve natural beauty being a huge and developed metropolis. Stanley Park which is one of the largest urban parks of the North America is situated in Vancouver. The city landscape is dominated by the North Shore Mountains. The city was made world famous due to its breathtaking views.

Vancouver is rather calm city but it offers opportunity to go in for lots of kinds of winter and summer sports or at least watch. That is it is rich as to out-of-door activities facilities. The city is considered either the best or one of the best cities to live in.
